At AAA, we supply reliable, high-performance vehicle parts — from brake pads to rotors — built to last and keep you safe on the road.
Not always. If your rotors are above minimum thickness, smooth and not warped, new brake pads alone are fine. Replace the rotors too if they're grooved, pitted, rusted on the braking surface or cause a pulsing pedal. On salted Canadian roads, many drivers replace brake pads and rotors together. See minimum rotor thickness.
Because the pads and rotors work as one system. HydroAdaptive ceramic pads move water away from the braking surface and keep their bite on cold mornings, the rotor surface is prepared for those pads, and GEOMET-coated GC rotors resist the salt rust that causes uneven braking. So braking stays consistent in rain, slush and cold.
Each AAA Frictions kit pairs a set of ceramic brake pads with matching rotors for the front axle, the rear axle or both. You choose GC rotors, with a full GEOMET coating for salted roads, or SC rotors, with a coated hub and edges, and Type 03 or Type 07 pads.
Our front brake pad and rotor kits cost about $110 to $230 for most cars, such as a Honda Civic, Toyota Corolla or RAV4. Rear kits usually cost less, and front-and-rear kits are about $180 to $370. Shipping is free to all 10 provinces. Our cost guide adds typical shop labour.
Only if both axles are worn. Brakes are replaced one axle at a time, and the front brake pads and rotors usually wear out first because they do most of the stopping. If both axles are due, a front-and-rear kit covers your brakes and rotors in one order.
Look for ceramic pads that keep their bite when cold and wet, and rotors with a corrosion-resistant coating so salt doesn't rust the hub and edges. Our Type 07 kits with GC rotors are made for exactly that: HydroAdaptive+ ceramic pads paired with fully GEOMET-coated rotors.
Our rotors and pads are designed as one braking system: the rotor surface is prepared for HydroAdaptive pads, which shortens break-in and keeps braking consistent. Selling them together guarantees that pairing. Our ceramic brake pads are also sold on their own.
