At AAA, we supply reliable, high-performance vehicle parts — from brake pads to rotors — built to last and keep you safe on the road.
For most cars and everyday driving, yes. Ceramic brake pads are quieter, make less brake dust and are gentler on rotors than semi-metallic pads. Semi-metallic pads still suit heavy towing and track use. Every AAA Frictions pad is ceramic. Our ceramic vs semi-metallic guide compares the two side by side.
They're made for it. Ordinary pads can lose bite when water films the rotor or a cold morning stiffens the compound. Our HydroAdaptive ceramic compound moves moisture away from the braking surface so the pad keeps full contact, and Type 07 HydroAdaptive+ adds better response on cold starts and in snow. Choose your year, make and model in the vehicle search above. The list then shows only the brake pads that fit your car, marked front or rear, each with its part number. Front and rear pads are different parts, so check which axle you're replacing before you order.
Both are ceramic disc brake pads made for Canadian weather. Type 03 HydroAdaptive is for everyday driving in rain and humidity. Type 07 HydroAdaptive+ adds better performance on cold starts and in snow and slush, so it suits drivers who face long, salty winters.
Our ceramic brake pad sets cost about $36 to $73 per axle. For most cars, such as a Honda Civic, Toyota Corolla or RAV4, front pads are about $38 to $65. Shipping is free to all 10 provinces. A shop adds labour on top; our brake replacement cost guide shows typical prices.
Yes. Ceramic brake pads make less dust than semi-metallic pads, and the dust they do make is lighter in colour, so your wheels stay cleaner between washes. They are usually quieter too. Some dust is normal with any pad as it wears.
Not necessarily. Front brake pads usually wear faster because they do most of the stopping. Always replace pads in pairs on the same axle, both fronts or both rears, and check the other axle while the wheels are off. Shop front brake pads or rear brake pads.
